The first day of the Dubai International Project Management Forum included a session entitled Digital Management, participants included His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and H.E. Prof. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data & AI Authority, and Mirna Arif, Microsoft Egypt, Country General Manager. The session was moderated by Richard Deen.

At the start of the session, His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, said, “The new future changes in Dubai are steered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. We have a brave leader who made it clear to the world that Dubai would build a city for the Internet (Dubai Internet City) and today the UAE is one of the best countries that apply technology worldwide. The digital economy in the country is an economy. Today, our economic system provides the opportunity for the UAE to become a platform for the entire world. In the UAE, we employ technology to improve productivity and quality of life.”

Professor Abdullah Al-Ghamdi said, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has many plans for change and we are empowering decision-makers, especially in the education, municipal and many sectors, to reach a data-driven economy. In return, we must continue to work and embrace new ideas on the go. Data is so important, and our focus is based on results. Three elements contribute to achieving success in artificial intelligence highlighted by technology, data bank, communication infrastructure, and most importantly humans. We must also ensure that leadership focuses on their skills in all fields related to artificial intelligence and data.”

Mirna Arif said, “The basis of innovation and technology helped coaxed changes in many things in life. Governments started to look at the importance of achieving economic sustainability. So, there must be a clear view of the challenges such as the meaningless use of technology. An institution like Microsoft is committed to creating sustainable trust between customers, partners and governments until we reach the required policies and legislative framework to identify these challenges.”
