Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) celebrated the 52nd Union Day by organising a host of festivities that included setting up a special majlis for employees in the external courtyard of RTA’s HQ. It also offered a platform for craftsmen to showcase their skills in traditional handicrafts such as pearl diving. Events included a workshop dedicated to the art of preparing Arabic coffee.

The celebration was amplified with a variety of interactive and cultural elements including smart screens displaying quizzes about the UAE's geographical and historical landmarks, an electronic games corner for employees, and a performance by a popular band. Emirati hospitality was showcased, along with a special exhibit designed as a historical museum narrating the story of life in the UAE before the union together with a display of traditional weapons, household items, folk costumes, and traditional occupations.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Roads and Transport Authority, along with several CEOs and directors participated in the Union Day celebration.

Employee Engagement

The employees interacted with the quizzes, heritage designs, and artistic paintings that showcased the UAE's rich history and cultural landmarks. They expressed their delight with the unique displays introduced by RTA in this year's celebrations, describing them as exceptional, particularly as they highlight cultural elements like traditional games and local foods.

Outdoor Festivities

RTA participates in the 52nd Union Day celebrations through a series of outdoor activities. In the coming days the logo of the 52nd Union Day will be displayed on smart traffic screen, illuminates the waterfall of the Dubai Water Canal with the colours of the national flag, and celebration-themed designs will be displayed on the screens of the Dubai Metro and Tram, public buses, marine transport means, and screens of customer happiness centres. The state flags will be distributed to Dubai Metro users at Jebel Ali Station along with live traditional performances.
