The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has made 113 inspections on pick-ups at Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and the International City. The campaign was part of RTA’s strategy aimed at ensuring the traffic safety and enforcing the compliance with the stipulations governing road security and safety.

“We have carried out 113 inspections on pick-ups operated at the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and the International City resulting in the issuance of 30 offence tickets. Most of the violations were related to the lack of, or damaged, reflective sticker, exposed vehicle payload, defective windshield wipers, expired tyres, using a vehicle in other than designated purposes, and windshield cracks,” said Musa Al Raee’si, Director of Monitoring & Enforcement, Licensing Agency, RTA.

“These inspection campaigns were part of our efforts to ensure the security of road, and the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Our aim is to ensure the validity of vehicles for their designated tasks and verify their compliance with RTA’s stipulations; which warrants taking all measures to achieve this end. These campaigns are part of a year-round plan aimed to realise RTA’s vision of safe and smooth transport for all as well as its strategic goals of relevance,” added Al Raee’si.
