39 local, regional, and international awards in 2023
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has garnered 39 local, regional, and international awards in 2023. This impressive collection of awards included the Global Safety Award presented by the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), and the Customer Centricity World Series (CCWS) from the UK in the Best Call Centre category recognising the technology used.
Innovation and Happiness Awards
RTA also won the GovTech Innovation Award 2023 in the digital transformation category for its Call Centre, the Smart City award category for Expo 2020 Project, Best Innovation for Automating Government Procedures for the vehicle ownership, selling or buying a vehicle through RTA’s Dubai Drive app in the 3rd UAE Innovates Award, and the Happiness Award presented by the Investment Corporation of Dubai in recognition of RTA's dedicated efforts in maximising customer happiness through social communication.
Engineering and Construction Technology
In the field of architectural and interior design innovation, RTA secured the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2023 for the building of the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre at Al Barsha under the Government Buildings category. In construction technology, RTA won the International Construction Technology Award, acknowledging organisations that leverage digital technology to improve the presentation of projects.
Pioneering Awards
On a global level, RTA received two international accolades. The first was the IRF Global Road Achievements Awards in the category of Asset Preservation & Maintenance Management in recognition of the development of road and transport presented by the International Road Federation (IRF). The second award was the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards, UK, in the category of Road Safety for Motorists.
RTA has also clinched the Global Generative AI Award in the category of Government Services. This global award, which is managed by Innovative AI Company, celebrates excellence and innovation at the corporate and individual levels, focusing on those applying generative artificial intelligence technology to advance their work, improve services, and create a better future for all.
Customer Focus
RTA won the Ideas UK Award in the category of Customer Focus, which includes members from within and outside the United Kingdom. This award encourages innovation worldwide. RTA also won the Best Business Awards for its Click & Drive Project, Right-Of-Way Permit System, and Central Assets Information Centre Project.
Smart City Category
RTA received the Technology Excellence Award in the Government Smart City category. This regional award honours organisations, projects, and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in leveraging technology for positive impact across the Middle East.
