A new jogging track around Safa Park

The Roads and Transport Authority has opened a new jogging track around Safa Park under Part 1 of Phase III of the Dubai Water Canal Project which covers digging a 3 km-long canal.

The Canal works have impacted part of Safa Park; which required modifying the boundary wall of the Park and constructing a jogging track conforming to the same specifications of the existing track. The new track around Safa Park will be part of the key facilities providing sports services to the public in a vital area where the Canal crosses the heart of Dubai.

Works in Phase III of the Water Canal Project are underway since June 2014 and all construction works are set for completion by September 2016. This includes digging the water canal, filling an island to the seaside, building a marine barrier around the Island for the sake of making a sand beach, constructing marinas for yachts and the Water Bus, and constructing three pedestrian bridges in vital locations to ease the movement of the public and encourage mass and tourist transportation.
