RTA marks Mother’s Day by week-long celebrations of working mothers

Marking the event, the RTA offered good wishes to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (Mother of Arabs); who has contributed to instilling the values of love & pride amongst all citizens, and accorded every support to women causes in various fields.

Ms. Kawther Kazim, Executive Director of Human Resources & Development cum Chairwomen of Women Committee at the RTA, stressed that the Committee was keen on rolling out initiatives inspired by love & giving. “We are keen on celebrating working women in the RTA over an entire week by holding a variety of events of concern to women. The move was taken in appreciation of women’s abilities to strike a balance between dedication to work and family care. This model of mothers prompted us to recognize their roles as they are worthy of respect and recognition,” said Kazim.

“On Mother’s Day we have got initiatives spanning six days; each day featuring a different experience. The first day (Cultural Day) provided a real-life experience to female employees who were offered a new cultural exposure by hosting Dr. Suaad Lutfi, Dermatologist & Laser Treatment Specialist.  The second day (Beauty Day) saw the hosting of leading Arab beauty experts who gave some tips & excellent guidance to attendees. On the third day (Volunteers Day), Ms. Mariam Al Ahmadi, Community Researcher, Law Respect Culture Office at the General Secretariat, Office of the Minster of Interior, will be hosted to highlight volunteering issues.

During the week, a sports day will be held including the hosting of Ms. Sahar Al Obad, a leading sports figure, who will present a new sports experience to attendees. The fifth day (Arts Day) will see the hosting of folklorist Ms. Wisaal Al Ali with RTA’s talented female staff in showcasing their artistic skills through Arabian manuscripts & paintings. The Mother’s Week will also host the Religious Day where the scholar Sheikh Sulaiman Al Jibailan will deliver a religious speech about the mother and her role in the community in the presence of RTA employees.

The Mother’s Week celebrations will also witness felicitating working women, cultural & sports quizzes, women-related events, and the distribution of gift items.
