RTA holds workshop about Value Management

Udai Al Deesi, Director of Assets, said: “The aim of this course, which is approved by the International Society of American Value Engineering (SAVE), revolves around upgrading the skills of participating RTA staffs and familiarizing them with the latest developments of the industry. It is firmly believed that the event will have a positive role in improving the daily routines of employees, and up their job performance levels in managing RTA’s projects. At the end of the course, participants sat for an AVS (Associate Value Specialist) test; which is approved by the International Society of American Value Engineering.

“This course is hugely important to specialists as it constitutes basic requirements of obtaining a degree in Value Engineering as per the rules of the International Society of Value Engineering. It will also qualify participants to grasp the knowledge and skills necessary for conducting value engineering studies on RTA’s projects. Upon completion of the course, participants will pick up skills and procedures which will help them figure out better quality solutions, besides learning strategies that help save time, effort and money,” he said.

Al Deesi further commented on the benefits of the course saying: “Participants will be able to apply value engineering to all engineering projects, acquaint themselves with the methodology of analyzing jobs, and know how to carry out scientific and practical comparisons between construction options. They will also learn the integration of value engineering in the design process, how to estimate primary & total costs, and how to safeguard against the rise in costs, in addition to identifying underlying reasons poor quality, setting up effective work teams, and benchmarking value engineering with other quality improvement techniques.

“The RTA is always keen on broadening, improving, and boosting the skills of employees in various specialties through dispatching them to international training courses where highly experienced experts will give lectures in various fields in a bid to improve employees’ abilities, polish their skills and enhance business processes they adopt,” added Al Deesi.

It is worth mentioning that training levels relating to value engineering have three phases through which the participant can obtain several certificates starting with Associate Value Specialist (AVS), followed by Value Methodology Practitioner (VMP), and the last stage is Certified Value Specialist (CVS); which is the highest certificate awarded in the field of Value Engineering by the International Society of American Value Engineering.
