Project Description
- 22 projects with a cost of AED 16 billion.
- The development of the Latifa bint Hamdan Street, which covers 12,200 metres from its intersection with Al Khail Road to Emirates Road.
- The development of Al Mustaqbal Street and Trade Centre Roundabout, including the construction of bridges and tunnels totalling 6,200 metres.
- The development of Umm Suqeim and Al Qudra Streets, covering a 16,000-metre stretch from the Jumeirah Street intersection to Emirates Road.
- The development of Al Fay Street Development, one of the key strategic corridors in the emirate, extending from Al Khail Road at its intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, passing through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street up to the Emirates Road. The project includes 12,900 metres of road construction and the development of five intersections.
- The development of Al Safa Street, which stretches from Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Wasl Road. The project includes the construction of 2,100 metres of tunnels.
- Deploying trackless tram systems at eight locations across Dubai which operates on virtual tracks, using camera-guided painted lines on dedicated lanes. Each tram has three carriages.
- Adding dedicated bus and taxi lanes covering 13 km.
- Launching Commercial Transport (Logisty) Platform, a digital service developed in partnership with the private sector.
- Launching smart cycling tracks scanning
- Launching the ‘Green Road’ safe driving system, which alerts drivers of the 1,395 public transport buses in real time about traffic safety breaches.
Project Benefits
- The development of the Latifa bint Hamdan Street will add capacity for approximately 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions and reduce travel time by 15–20%.
- The development of Al Mustaqbal Street will increase road capacity from 9,000 to 12,000 vehicles per hour.
- The development of Umm Suqeim and Al Qudra Streets reduces travel time from 46 minutes to just 11 minutes.
- The development of Al Fay Street provides an additional capacity for approximately 64,400 vehicles per hour, benefiting around 600,000 residents.
- The development of Al Safa Street increases the street's capacity from 6,800 to 9,400 vehicles per hour and reduces travel time from 20 minutes to just two minutes.
- The Trackless Tram is powered by electricity with a capacity of 300 passengers, and a single charge allows the tram to travel up to 100 km.
- The dedicated bus and taxi lanes improve bus arrival rates by 42%.
- The commercial transport platform manages commercial vehicle fleets, providing on-demand booking and tracking.
- The safe driving system provides immediate alerts to public transport bus drivers regarding traffic safety violations.
