    Completion of construction works of internal roads at Margham, Lehbab, Al Lesaili, and Hatta

    RTA has completed construction works on the internal roads and streetlighting project at Margham, Lehbab, Al Lesaili, and Hatta. The project works spanned 35 km: 18 km of roadwork, and the addition of lighting poles along another 17 km of existing streets

    Opening new 7 km cycling tracks in Al Khawaneej and Mushrif

    RTA opened new cycling tracks have been in Al Khawaneej and Mushrif extending 7 km to connect with the existing tracks in the two districts, which already span 32 km.

    Opening Al Majasimi and Al Wasl Road Intersection

    RTA has inaugurated a new signalised junction at Al Majasimi intersection and Al Wasl Road, situated between Umm Suqeim Street and Al Thanya Street.

    Completion of Algeria Street Improvement Project spanning 2km at Al Muhaisnah 1 and Mizhar 1

    RTA has completed the Algeria Street Improvement Project stretching 2 km from the intersection of Algeria Street and Al Khawaneej Street (South) to the intersection of Tunis Street (North) at Al Muhaisnah (1) and Al Mizhar (1).

    Completing the construction of internal roads extending 1.9km as part of Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Project at Al Warqa 4

    RTA completed the construction of internal roadwork extending 1.9 km within the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment project at Al Warqa 4.

    Opening two footbridges on Ras Al Khor Road to step up traffic safety

    RTA has opened two new footbridges on Ras Al Khor Road. The inauguration of the two bridges affirms RTA's commitment to enhancing traffic safety, providing safe mobility means for pedestrian crossing, and fostering wellbeing to bring more happiness to residents and visitors of Dubai. These two bridges are characterised by attractive designs and are fitted with hi-tech electromechanical systems, alarms, firefighting, remote monitoring systems, and dedicated bike racks.

    Opening of the final phase of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Corridor Improvement Project

    RTA opened of the second and final phase of the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Corridor Improvement Project which spans 8 km along Ras Al Khor Road from Dubai-Al Ain Road to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Works completed entailed the construction of four bridges, stretching 2 km in total.

    Carrying out Quick Traffic Solutions on Al Seba Street

    RTA carried out improvements and quick traffic management solutions on Al Seba Street in the direction of Sheikh Zayed Road - Garn Al Sabkha Street intersection.

    Opening a 160m cycling underpass at Meydan

    RTA opened a new tunnel specifically designed for cyclists in Meydan area. This tunnel spans 160m in length and 6.6m in width, with a capacity to accommodate approximately 800 bicycles per hour.

    Opening the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Street Improvement Project

    RTA opened on Sunday 22nd January 2023, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street Improvement Project extending 3 km from the intersection with the Dubai-Al Ain Road up to the Academic City Roundabout.

    Completion of Al Manama Street improvement works

    RTA has completed improvements of Al Manama Street, which is part of the Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project opened in May 2022. The project stems from RTA's efforts to upgrade roads and transportation infrastructure, besides supporting Dubai's urban and sustainable development.

    Completion of the construction of internal roads in 3 residential areas

    RTA has completed the construction of internal road networks in three residential areas, namely Al Quoz 2, Nad Al Sheba 2 and Al Barsha South 3 extending 37 km in total.

    Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project

    The Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project is built at a cost of AED2 billion. The project spans 17 km from the intersection of Emirates Road to the intersection of Ras Al Khor Road along the Dubai-Al Ain Road, and it included widening the road from three to six lanes in each direction which improves six key junctions.

    Opening the Saih Al-Dahal Road Improvement Project

    RTA opened on 24 May 2022 the Saih Al-Dahal Road Improvement Project, which links Saih Al-Salam Road with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. RTA has accordingly removed the old single-lane road and replaced it with a dual carriageway extending 11 km comprising two lanes in each direction, along with a median and three roundabouts. The new road will link with the entry points of Al Qudra Lakes which increases the road capacity from an existing 1800 vehicles to 4000 vehicles in each direction.

    Opening the Infinity Bridge Project

    RTA opened in January 2022 the Infinity Bridge project which is 295 meters long, 56.5 meters wide with the ability to accommodate 24,000 vehicles in both directions. It rises 15.5 meters high above the creek levels, allowing complete freedom of movement to large boats and yachts around the clock.

    Opening a 4-lane bridge linking Al Manama, Al Meydan Streets

    RTA opened on 20th November 2021, a new bridge linking Al Manama and Al Meydan Streets crossing over the Dubai Al Ain Road. RTA has accordingly eradicated the previous roundabout and adjusted the sloping ends of the existing bridges on Al Meydan Street.

    Al Khawaneej Roads Improvement Project to improve Dubai – Sharjah link

    The project includes an underpass of three lanes in each direction at the junction of Al Khawaneej and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Roads as well as a bridge of two lanes in each direction at the junction of Al Amardi and Emirates Roads in the direction of Al Awir

    Completion of 475m long pedestrians and cyclists bridge over Ras Al Khor Road

    (RTA) announced the completion of a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists crossing over Ras Al Khor Rd (Dubai-Hatta) extending 475 metres in length. The bridge, which has a width of 5 metres (3m for bikers and 2m for pedestrians), is fitted with rails between the lanes and on both sides.

    Completion of construction of 3 bus stations at Al Jaffiliya, Al Qusais and Deira

    (RTA) announced the completion of Al Jaffiliya, Etisalat and Union public bus stations at Al Jaffiliya, Al Qusais and Deira. The new stations are a further addition to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, which was opened in the final quarter of 2020 year.

    Operation of Dubai Metro Route 2020

    RTA is set to celebrate the New Year by starting the operation of Route 2020, which serves densely populated districts inhabited by 270k persons such as The Gardens, Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Real Estates, and the Dubai Investment Park as well as the site of Dubai Expo.

    Opening improvements of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed-Al Rebat Roads intersection

    (RTA) opened (Friday, November 20th, 2020) the widening of roads and bridges at the intersection of Al Rebat and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Roads, near Mirdif City Centre. The completed works included the addition of one lane to Al Rebat and Tripoli Streets and the widening of the existing bridges. The improvements will enhance the link between Dubai and Sharjah emirates, ease the traffic flow, and improve the safety along the corridor.

    Mohammed bin Rashid inaugurates AED590 million Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre at Al Barsha

    His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, inaugurated the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre constructed by (RTA). The facility is considered one of the biggest and most sophisticated traffic control centres worldwide in terms of smart technology use and the management of traffic systems.

    Opening 4-way footbridge at vital Dubai Marina junction

    The bridge boasts of a unique design echoing the urban architecture of the neighbourhood and coastal areas. It stretches 75 metres and handles about 8000 people per hour in all directions.

    Opening 740-metre bridge leading to Dubai Creek Harbour

    (RTA) opens a flyover leading to the Western entrance of the Dubai Creek – Dubai Creek Harbour; an important phase of the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Crossing Improvement Project. The project encompasses the improvement of Nadd Al Hamar Street - Ras Al Khor Road intersection, along with extensive improvements of Ras Al Khor Road.

    Completing a project with 13 bridges leading to Dubai Hills Mall

    RTA has completed all construction works in Roads and Bridges leading to Dubai Hills Mall project. The project includes 13 bridges extending 3700 metres in length and 11-22 metres in width, with a combined capacity of 23,500 vehicles per hour.

    Opening footbridges at Khalid bin Al Waleed, Al Marabea' Street

    (RTA) has opened a pedestrian bridge at Khalid bin Al Waleed Street, Bur Dubai, and another one at Al Marabea' Street, Al Quoz. RTA built these bridges to enhance pedestrian safety and streamline the link between residential communities and business outlets. 

    Opening two internal roads at Sama Al Jaddaf, Oud Al Muteena 1

    RTA opened (Saturday) 2nd of May 2020, the internal roads project at Sama Al Jadaf. It connects with other main roads in the vicinity such Al Khail Road to the South, and Sheikh Rashid Road to the North, thus enabling smooth mobility in the area. RTA also opened the internal roads project for Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment at Oud Al Muteena 1. 

    Soft Mobility Project to cover 3 Dubai areas

    (RTA) announced that the initial phase of Dubai Master Plan for ‘Soft Mobility’ would be completed in March 2020. This phase covered three residential districts namely Karama, Mankhool, and Al Qusais 1.

    Improvement of Al Awir Road, Entrances of International City

    The opening of Al Awir Road Improvement Project (Phase I) will contribute to the smooth flow of traffic from International City heading to Downtown Dubai. It included the construction of a bridge with an estimated capacity of 1000 vehicles per hour

    Latifa bint Hamdan and Umm Al-Sheef Streets Improvement Project

    The Project links Jumeirah with Al Khail Road and the Parallel Roads (First Al- Khail Road and Al-Asayel Street), has a cost tag of about AED800 million and its development comprises of two contracts.

    Phase 1 of 7th Interchange, Al Yalayes and Al Asayel Road Projects

    The two projects are set to enhance the link between the Sheikh Zayed Road and both Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road. They will ease the traffic flow on the Sheikh Zayed Road

    Launching the construction of Shindagha Bridge project

    Shindagha Bridge Project features an iconic design based on the concept of the infinity sign. It is part of the AED 5.035 billion Shindagha Corridor Project extending 13 km along Sheikh Rashid Street as well as Al Mina, Al Khaleej and Cairo Streets.

    New traffic changes to Ibn Battuta Street, surrounding areas under Route 2020

    RTA has initiated several changes in streets linked with works in progress of Route 2020 Project.

    Affected Areas: Areas surrounding Ibn Battuta Street namely: Discovery Gardens, The Gardens, Al Furjan

    Completion rate hits 90% in bridge linking Al Khail Rd and Financial Centre Rd

    Ends on: End of 2017

    Completion rate had exceeded 90% in the project works of the bridge running from Al Khail Road to the Financial Centre Road. Works in the AED177 million project, which is undertaken by RTA in coordination with Emaar Properties, are expected to be completed by the end of 2017.

    Improvement of Airport, Tripoli Roads

    The awarding of a contract for the improvement of Tripoli Road in a 12 km stretch to provide a link between the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and the Emirates Road

    Al Houdh Interchange construction 80% Completed

    RTA has announced that completion rate 80% on the construction of the Al Houdh Interchange at the intersection of Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Yalayis Road. full opening of the project by November 2016.

    Route 2020 Project

    H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai approves the awarding of Route 2020 Project at a cost of AED10.6 billion

    Endorsing the design of Enterprise Command & Control Center

    RTA has endorsed the model design of the Enterprise Command & Control Center (EC3), which is set to for construction at a cost of AED335 million to cater to the needs of hosting Expo 2020

    Phase II of Dual Carriageway of Seih Assalam Road Project

    RTA has awarded contract of Phase II of Dual Carriageway of Seih Assalam Road Project. It covers a sector extending about 21 km from Al Qudra R/A up to the intersection of Dubai – Al Ain Road, at a cost of about AED178 million

    Project of Sheikh Rashid Rd – Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Rd Interchange

    RTA has awarded a contract of construction on Sheikh Rashid Rd – Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Rd Interchange Project will cost AED 611m and is set for completion during the last quarter of 2017

    Project of constructing the Deira Palm Entrance Bridge

    Ends on: 2017

    RTA has recently endorsed the construction of Deira Palm Island Entrance Bridge Project, and opening the waterway underneath the bridge to serve the Marina and the new Fish Market

    Improving of Al Awir Road, Entrances of International City

    The project will include Improvement of Al Awir Road and Entrances of International City (First Stage) Project
