Mustering field & electronic support for Gulf Traffic Week
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has diversified its interactive awareness channels to drum up support for the Gulf Traffic Week, which kicked off on Sunday 8 March 8/3/2015 and until Thursday 12/3/2015, by capitalizing on its solid relationships with a wide array of public and private entities. The Traffic Department has been engaged in discussions with strategic partners and associates to thrash out the most effective measures to ensure the success of the Gulf Traffic Week. These arrangements concluded to a number of agreements that proved both feasible & effective in delivering awareness messages.
During the Gulf Traffic Week, the Traffic Department managed to deliver awareness messages via e-mails to all employees of the Dubai government in cooperation with the Dubai Smart Government. The Department has also transmitted awareness messages via screens in Dubai sports clubs in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, and in some cinemas in cooperation with Emaar Properties. It has also broadcasted awareness flashes via social media sites, RTA customers’ service centers in addition to awareness messages exhibited through advertising screens at driving institutes, auto showrooms, and scores of websites lending support to the events of the Traffic Department. Besides these electronic endeavours, the Traffic Department has intensified field activities to ensure success of events of the Gulf Traffic Week in cooperation with the Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) to display an awareness footage in electronic screens fitted in all stations. Efforts also included dressing workers gears bearing the Gulf Traffic Week’s logo, and distributing awareness leaflets about The Number 3 Campaign aimed at educating motorists about the main causes of traffic accidents.
