
HE Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer , Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority, has endorsed a policy for training and rehabilitation for both kinds of drivers, regular taxi and limousines. This policy is jointly mapped out by both the drivers affairs department and the franchising and enforcement department at the RTA, which aims to identify terms and conditions of the selection and qualification of cab drivers, in order to curb accidents and traffic violations, and achieve the maximum satisfaction of taxi users where the policy applies to all companies operating as franchise companies in the Emirate of Dubai.
The Training program covers three pivotal training courses; namely, novice drivers course for limousines and taxis driving, complementary course for experienced drivers and rehabilitation course of drivers who committed violations (offender drivers).
The Drivers Qualifying Center is administered by a host of competent coaches who have an exceptional grip on running driving courses in different languages. Those coaches are authorized by the Royal British RoSPA, the international organization specialized in reducing accidents and ensuring safe driving by the Royal British RoSPA, where several specialized training programs along with workshops were kicked off in accordance with the international best practices in addition to holding a number of workshops with various franchise companies and conduct interviews directly with the public to identify the areas of development necessary for drivers of taxis and limousines.

The training center is fitted with state-of-the-art technologies utilized to training such as, smart screens, audiovisual technologies, simulation device to gauge and evaluate the performance of the drivers in addition to the smart maps hall that helps increase and foster the knowledge of drivers about the touristic sites and residential communities in the Emirate of Dubai. Also some facilities have been developed to be safety and security training worthy as well as dedicated areas to educate drivers on first aid kids, in addition to fire extinguishers usage in accordance with the international standards and in cooperation with the competent authorities.
