Vehicle registration renewal procedures may vary depending on the vehicle age and the vehicle using purpose as such commercially use purpose. You can inquire about vehicle inspections through the RTA website.

Important notes:

• Vehicle registration renewal is available either online, the RTA call center or through a trusted insurer. Once the renewal is completed you will receive a temporary registration to allow you to immediately drive your vehicle. During the renewal process you will choose how to receive the plastic registration card, which will be by courier, collect it from RTA or soon choose to receive the card to your PO Box.

• A vehicle registration can be renewed 30 days prior to the date of expiry. After the vehicle expiry date there is a 30 day period to renew the registration without any fines except driving fees. After that period a monthly late registration fine will apply in addition to monthly driving fees that start from the date of the vehicle registration expiry. A vehicle registration will be cancelled if not renewed after 3 years.
