This test is designed at advanced stage to assess the competency and readiness of the applicant for the practical road test, this assessment test is a replica of the final test.
The assessor tests the applicant's competency and readiness through certain maneuvers to determine the readiness of the candidate for the practical test. Assessor may advise the candidate at this stage whether more training lessons are needed. Practical Tests score sheet is used for this test.
If the applicant passed the theoretical test, yard test and the internal assessment, an on road test with the RTA is required then. This test examines the driving skills of the applicant and to what extent that applicant abides by traffic laws and applies safety driving procedures.
In case the applicant fails this test, he will be requested to have 8 additional practical sessions before being eligible to repeat the road test.
This test is an integral part of the driver’s test in order to obtain a driving license. This test is conducted in the advanced stages of the training and prior to the practical test on the road which is supervised by the RTA.
Motorcycle test includes two tests, internal and external test (on road test) and should be under the supervision of RTA Examiner(s).
Trainee / applicant for a light vehicle license will be evaluated in the following skills:
• Parallel Parking
• The 90 degrees vertical parking bay (garage) • The 60 degrees Side parking • Starting from the hill
• Emergency brake
This test is performed inside the facility of the driving institute and supervised by an assessor from the institute, who is approved by the Licensing Agency at Roads and Transport Authority.
Candidates for buses and heavy vehicles license must currently pass the external test (On Road test) only, while drivers of the mechanical devices are examined inside the institutes.
