The "Read more" Initiative focused on the most important segments of the society , which is schoolchildren , encouraging them to read and get more books with providing some activities and programs. External Events and competitions would encourage children and students to engage in reading more than just in schools.
In 2014, RTA has launched classrooms in Rashid Centre for the disabled, to support the requirements of people with special needs in the field of education. RTA equipped, furnished and developed a classroom, that 300 students benefit from, at the center
The “Salama” Magazine is a monthly magazine specializes in issues of general safety and focuses on Traffic awareness. The magazine is published by Traffic Department, Traffic and Roads Agency of RTA and is geared for children (7 – 14 years).
To contribute to society and raise public awareness of RTA's services, RTA annually participates in KidZania with an interactive station, where miniature models of public transportation are provided; bus stations, a miniature bus, and a miniature Dubai Taxi to be used by KidZania visitors. Moreover, RTA organizes various events and activities, at the site to educate children on traffic safety and more.
RTA created an audio booth that allows employees and people from all groups to volunteer by recording selected stories and books; these recordings will be collected and donated to various centers in coordination with the Emirates Association for the Blind, where audiobooks can be downloaded and listened to.
