Answer 9: The customer must apply for a Customs transit book (Triptec) at the Automobile & Touring Club of The UAE. After receiving the Customs transit book (Triptec), the customer heads to the the emirate where the vehicle is registered to receive the tourism certificate.
- Question 10: Does the expat customer need a tourism certificate to drive an Emirati-owned vehicle inside GCC countries?
Answer 10: Yes, the customer, whether citizen or expat, must apply for a tourism certificate stating the name of the person that will drive the vehicle.
Expats must get an approval from the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE to drive a vehicle registered under their name or the name of a UAE citizen in a GCC country.
