Abras, a traditional means of transportation..

The Abra is a traditional means of water transport in the United Arab Emirates, considered one of the oldest modes of transportation. There are two types of Abras:

  • The rowing abra
  • The motorized abra

The motorized abra currently operates across the creek, linking Deira and Bur Dubai areas, under the provision of Marine Transport Department.
