Using Emotional AI to assess Tram drivers in real-time
With ‘Safety and Environmental Sustainability’ being one of the key strategic goals, RTA in partnership with Keolis MHI and VirtuE Therapy and Research has implemented the third phase of trials of the use of A.I. Technology to assess Tram Drivers in real-time and ensure passenger safety.

Al Tayer: Phase I of Intelligent Traffic System improves incident monitoring by 63%, response time by 30%
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that the initial phase of the Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) expansion project, which was completed in November 2020, had expanded ITS coverage of Dubai’s main road network from 11% to 60%.

Launched in January 2019, the ‘Smart Safety License’ Programme from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) trained 6270 employees of different nationalities, languages and demographics. The Programme covered RTA’s employees and contractors.

RTA has launched an inspection campaign around 27 metro stations. The campaign, which was coordinated with Dubai Municipality, aimed at monitoring abandoned bicycles around the metro stations.

RTA undertakes rolling stock overhaul programme to enhance operational safety
As part of its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of daily riders, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is undertaking a periodic rolling stock overhaul programme. The programme is run in collaboration with Keolis-MHI, the operator of the Dubai Metro and Tram at the highest standards of the industry. The overhaul procedures are conducted as per the recommendations of the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the metro.

Taxi complaints in Dubai drop to 0.03% of total 88.9 million trips in 2021
RTA has recently revealed that 99.97% of taxi trips in Dubai were complaint-free as the rate of taxi complaints was just 0.03% out of total 88.9 million trips carried out in 2021. It is recalled that the percentage of complaints was 0.04% in 2020, and 0.05% in 2019.
